How can a bank unleash the true potential of fintech companies – and in return, how do technology companies expand their distribution? During this peer collaboration, attendees meet in small groups to discuss topics around the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as they work to integrate new products and innovations.

Negotiating with Fintechs – Beyond Due Diligence
    Michael Dunne

    Michael Rave
    , Partner, Day Pitney LLP
When fintech startups began to emerge, many were touted as “disruptors” who would put the “banking dinosaurs” out of business — it hasn’t quite worked out that way.  Instead, fintech is impacting the industry in three main ways: changing consumer behavior, creating new business models and changing the basis of competition in the industry.  This session will review the principal issues banks should address when evaluating their relationship with new fintechs, whether as a service provider, partner or affiliate. This session will also review key contractual considerations and the importance of sharing the responsibility for, and benefits of, success.

    1:25 PM – 2:20 PM
    What’s Working?
Kyle Bazzy, Head of Enterprise Growth, Autobooks
David Koscheski, Director, US Financial Services Industry, Microsoft
Moderated by: Mika Moser, President, Bank Director
In this session, participants hear from a panel of technology leaders with a track record of working with banks – addressing the questions you should ask prior to entering into a partnership as well as uncovering the challenges you may encounter during the integration process.

    2:20 PM – 2:45 PM
Asking the Right Questions To Find the Right Resources
    Mika Moser
    , President, Bank Director
How and where can banks find the right technology partner? During this session, you will learn about a new platform built specifically for banks – FinXTech Connect. This curated directory of emerging financial technology companies includes only those who are strategically partnering with financial institutions. Companies selected have been identified by Bank Director as “bank-friendly” – with a proven history of financial performance and an existing roster of bank clients. Each company has been vetted and researched by Bank Director – and most importantly, companies cannot pay to be featured in the FinXTech Connect platform.

    2:45 PM – 3:30 PM

Kyle Bazzy, Head of Enterprise Growth, Autobooks
